Well, Christmas vacation has come to an end. Bummer. It was busy, but we managed to find some time to do a few fun things and have my parents, Mark's cousin Wesley and Mark's Mom come for a visit. Korie had her friend Abby over to do some riding with Mark. It was really cold outside, but they had a good time.

Kinley's first food
It's funny how even at this age, a child's eating habbits can be determined, so it seems. Kali was our picky eater as a baby and she still is. Korie ate a lot like Kinley does; which may mean that Kinley will not be a picky eater, since Korie is not.
Anyway, this is Kinley's first introduction to a solid food. She loved it. I couldn't shovel it in fast enough. She even had to help me by grabbing the spoon and putting it in her mouth. Of course, at first she spit it out a few times and then...watch out, she sucked it down like it was candy.

Comedy on wheels
Tuesday was Bradley's birthday so we went roller skating with Sunshine and her family to celebrate Bradley turning 11. It was the first time Korie has ever been on skates. She started out a little rough and then quickly got the hang of it. She has been begging me to go again. We had such a good time. I laughed sooooo hard I almost peed my pants. My husband is absolutely HILARIOUS. I know a lot of men wouldn't have put on a pair of skates and gone out on the floor for fear of embarrassing themselves. Well, not only did Mark put on skates but he made the most out of it by trying to shake his groove thing. He was highly entertaining and we all had a great time watching him biff it a few times. I am still laughing about how funny he was.

Where's the beef?
Mark has recently obtained one of his many life goals...we now have 54 registered Red Angus cows/heifers. We also obtained a bull; his name is Great Northern. He is only 2 but is quite the studly guy in the making. Needless to say, although it's a lot more mouths to feed, Mark is in heaven. I think he would let them eat at the dinner table with us if I let him.

Yep...Kali still has her very intense smile for the camera. She also has one nasty bruise on her cheek. Actually, it's isn't too bad now. Now it just looks like I hit her with a wooden spoon rather than the bat. It was really bad; you should see the looks I got from people when I went to the store with Kali. Hopefully, she won't be running into the wood bed railing face first anytime soon.
Here Kali and Kinley are hanging out together. Kinley's typical greeting to anyone comes with her mouth wide open hoping that someone will put something in there. Pretty funny.

Thanksgiving in San Diego
For Thanksgiving this year Korie, Kinley and I flew down to San Diego to spend some time with my parents, grandma, aunt and uncle and cousins. My brother and his daughter also joined us for a few days. We missed Mark and Kali a ton, but managed to have a great time. Korie was very excited about her first airplane ride.
This is my buddy Rowan. She is 18 months old and I miss her already. We stayed with her and her parents (my cousin Kristin) while in San Diego.
We spent the day at Sea World.

Another successful Halloween down. We got to go trick or treating with the Johnson's and Sunshine and Bradley. Kali got to participate for the first time. She loved running up to the doors (when she wasn't being carried by either Aunt Sunshine or her Daddy) but was pretty shy once the person opened up the door. However, she wasn't shy about grabbing the candy and putting it in her Elmo treat bucket. Kinley rode along in the stroller and did pretty darn good at hanging out all night. Korie and Abby were pretty much the leaders of the pack, running crazy everywhere as we tried to keep up with the two of them.

Kinley had her 2 month check up last week. She weighs 12 lbs. and 7 ounces. She is in the 75th percentile on everything. She has started cooing and talking to us, which 0f course is precious. She has discovered the fan in the living room. I think she likes it more than me. She has been sleeping in her own bed (finally) for about a week now which means that she is OUT of our bed. So, life has returned to somewhat "normal" chaos. She has even blessed me with a few full nights of sleep!

Welcome Indio
We added a new family member to the Peacemaker place. His name is Indio. Not sure exactly how big he is, but he is a big boy. He is an 8 year old Thoroughbred with a great, gentle disposition. We got him because he is a wonderful "all around" horse and aside from the fact that he can be ridden by anyone, we are hoping that Korie can use him for barrels and pole bending. Her horse Nevada is still her number one guy, but it's just too much to ask him to run for the horse competitions. Maybe he will make an appearance again next year at the competitions if we decide to let Kali participate in the "lead line" events.
