Growing Pains

I am often so distracted with daily activities, that I don't notice how fast our girls are growing.  Korie is quickly approaching 12 years old.  Where has the time gone?  She is at that stage where she is still  a girl but quickly entering the young woman stage.  Sometimes I think she struggles with how to behave and sometimes I struggle with how to treat her.  She is such a good girl and really is a delight. Not perfect by any means, but truly has a sweet heart.  God has blessed us.  This pic was taken during a church roller skating event (thanks S.V.) and it really touches me.  Korie and her sweet sweet friend....holding hands.   Girls anxious to grow up but young enough to still want to hold hands with their buddy.

....and her sense of humor is pretty special too.  The "tooth fairy" was slacking in his duty; yes, the tooth fairy is a male in our house.  After about 3 days of the tooth still sitting by her nightstand, Korie posted about 10 hilarious notes around the house.  This was my favorite.  And yes, she does know who the tooth fairy really is.

Pear Blossom 2012

Watching the parade.  Almost as good as Easter.  Look how full of candy those pockets are.

The awesome running teams of Peacemaker and Williams; ok...goofing off in this photo.
 Good job!

Best buddies.  They can be so cute together.  No clothes on, as usual.

Time for Buddy to meet his "kind."  He left the back yard and was introduced to the heard.  He didn't like it very much.  The other cows scared him.

New "family"

Look who I found in town?

We have newly adopted P Bar Ranch family members.  This is Jess and her horse Quincy.  Jess is so good for Korie.  She is teaching her a lot about having a strong work ethic and keeping Korie active and busy with the horses.  So happy to have her around.

waiting for your attitude to change

Haven't posted anything for a while. Computer was down for quite some time. Life here is pretty much the same. Busy. Our little darlings keep us grounded, laughing, frustrated and thankful all at the same time. Honestly, can't imagine life without them. But, sometimes, there are just those days, ya know?

Progress....

Here is the latest progress on our house. Pretty exciting. Probably not much more for a while.

I promise, this won't be a blog about animals

I just can't help it though. Every morning, I look forward to going out to the living room and looking out in the back yard to check on our little guy. He still doesn't have a name. I look forward to seeing his cute little face, however, what I look forward to the most is seeing our sweet Lotti out there standing by the fence waiting next to him. She rarely leaves his side. Although we call Korie the little guy's Mama, I think Lotti has earned her right to at least be Step-Mama, Foster-Mama, or something close.

The horses are surrounded by calves and cows. It's not like she doesn't see them on a daily basis. I wonder if she senses something, maybe that he needs someone to love him? I knew I loved this sweet mare, but I love her even more now. AND....I am thinking a baby might be in her future.

Yep, he's ALL mine!

He actually made me go out in public with him like this, a night out with friends in Ashland.

Korie's new project

We lost a Mama cow giving birth to this little guy yesterday. It was pretty sad. Actually, he isn't little...he's absolutely HUGE. So, he is now in our backyard being bottle fed 3 times a day. Fun!

The horses were absolutely fascinated by this little guy.

Korie participated in the church performance/musical. It was sooooo great. All of the kids did a fantastic job. I was a little shocked when our "little" girl came out looking like she was about 25 however. Sigh....I guess this is a glimpse into the future.

A family picture...actually exists! Thanks Teresa for taking the time to snap some shots.

We have been blessed with some pretty awesome things. Here are several of them....
Our sweet sweet friends the Williams. Mrs. Kari Williams LOVES, I mean LOVES, new baby calves. She's has been anxiously awaiting our calving season. So, the other day we had twins born on the ranch. This little girl was only a few hours old when the Williams family came over to love on her. It was so sweet. I completely take for granted how God has blessed us. We have several calves being born daily. Usually, I don't take too much notice. But thankfully to our friends, I finally went out and got to appreciate one of the many blessings we have been given, constant new life. Not by anything we did, but totally by God.

Where has the time gone?

Last I looked, it was September and now, well, we are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving. Whew!

Things around here have been, well..."interesting" to say the least. Hopefully, things will get less interesting from here on out. But, having said that...everything is good.

Kali just celebrated her 5th birthday, followed by a night of non-stop barfing. Happy Birthday Kali! Lol.

Anyway, hoping that what is left of this year doesn't fly by too fast, but somehow...well, I have a feeling it will.

Thankful for so many things. God, family, friends, freedom, jobs and the fact that I am forgiven and loved. Well, those are just a few of my top favorites. I have plenty more.

I hope this season, you find what you are thankful for and learn to enjoy the good and the bad. I am trying to do the same myself.

Happy Birthday Kali! We love you.

Is this the life or what?

Uncle Dean, why are you walking so funny?

What a sweet man!

Really?

Really! Sound asleep. I have days I feel like this too!

Cutie Pie Kali in the Halloween parade

We went to Disney on Ice in Sacramento with Papa and Grandma. Such a great time. We also got to meet "Uncle D" for some lunch.

In September, we girls threw a baby shower for Christie Horne. Love these ladies.
